  53.  
  54.         This file explains how to install and uninstall POWERdraft
  55.         for AutoCAD R14.
  56.  
  57. 1.1     How to determine the driver's version number
  58.  
  59.         There are several ways to get the version number of this driver.
  60.  
  61. 1.1.1   Using the File Manager or Explorer
  62.  
  63.         Open the properties of the file dselsa14.dll in your driver
  64.         directory with your File Manager or Explorer to read the version
  65.         string.
  66.  
  67. 1.1.2   Using the command 'PdVer'
  68.  
  69.         While AutoCAD is running with POWERdraft configured, you may
  70.         type the command 'PdVer'.
  71.  
  72. 1.1.3   Using POWERdraft Settings
  73.  
  74.         Open the POWERdraft Settings by clicking the 'tool symbol'
  75.         within the ELSA toolbar or by setting up the command 'PdConfig'.
  76.         The index card 'General' holds the current driver version.

  82.         The driver's setup directory contains the following files:

  93. 3       Installation/Uninstallation
  94.  
  95. 3.1     Prerequisites
  96.  
  97.         Please check the following list of requirements to allow
  98.         sucessful installation and usage of this driver.
  99.  
  100.         - operating system Windows NT 4.0
  101.         - actual ELSA Windows graphics driver
  102.         - AutoCAD R14 already installed
  103.         - an ELSA graphics controller mentioned at the top of this
  104.           README.TXT
  105.         - write access to AutoCAD's main directory and to the Windows
  106.           system directory
  107.  
  108. 3.2     Procedure of Installation
  109.  
  110.         Please make sure AutoCAD R14 is not running.
  111.  
  112.         * Installation from CD:
  113.           Start CDSETUP.EXE in the root directory of your WINNERware CD.
  114.           You can double click CDSETUP.EXE in the File Manager or
  115.           Windows Explorer.
  116.  
  117.         * Installation from floppy disk:
  118.           The POWERdraft installation set consists of several floppy
  119.           disks. Start SETUP.EXE from the first one. During installation
  120.           you will be requested to insert the other disks.
  121.  
  122.         * Installation from a separate directory:
  123.           The POWERdraft directory contains several subdirectories called
  124.           DISK<n>. Start SETUP.EXE in subdirectory DISK1.
  125.  
  126. 3.3     Uninstallation
  127.  
  128.         The install program records uninstall information in the
  129.         chosen program folder.
  130.  
  131. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.  
  133. 4       Configuration
  134.  
  135.         Setup will add the two icons
  136.                 'Configure POWERdraft'
  137.         and
  138.                 'Configure Original Driver'
  139.         to the program folder.
  140.         Using these icons you can configure either POWERdraft or the
  141.         original driver shipped with AutoCAD (CoolWHIP) as the AutoCAD's
  142.         actual display driver. After Setup has completed successfully,
  143.         POWERdraft is already configured.
  144.  
  145.         To reconfigure the original driver, click on the 'Configure
  146.         Original Driver' icon, while AutoCAD is _not_ running. To do so
  147.         for POWERdraft, click on the 'Configure POWERdraft' icon.
  148.  
  149.         If POWERdraft is configured, the ELSA logo will be shown
  150.         at AutoCAD's startup time.

  184.         - A regen following a pan or zoom operation on raster images
  185.           left behind a kind of "ghost images" among the real images.
  186.           This problem has been fixed.
  187.         - The POWERdraft Settings have been revised.

  190.         - Fixed a crash with Genius standard components.
  191.         - Improved the behaviour of Pan/Zoom via the Cockpit.

  199.         - Fixed problems with the preview, which is saved within the
  200.           .DWG file:
  201.           * Now in the "Open" dialog the quality of the preview is much
  202.             better.
  203.           * Non-drawing elements are not part of the preview any more.
  204.           * Now the file size is much less.
  205.         To fix these problems with a drawing saved with an older version
  206.         of POWERdraft (V14.00.xx(beta)), you may save this drawing again
  207.         after calling AutoCAD's command PURGE, which will reduce the
  208.         file size to a normal level.

  211.         - The Cockpit now performs dynamic zooming and panning also
  212.           for models in paperspace.
  213.         - Fully support of subentities. As a consequence of this item,
  214.           a problem with marking sketch planes has been solved.

  327. 5.2     Known Problems and Restrictions
  328.  
  329.         - Raster images will always be drawn beneath the remaining
  330.           graphics.
  331.         - Raster images will not be displayed within the Aerial View
  332.           window nor by MagniView.
  333.         - With the use of raster images the background color may become
  334.           slightly falsified.
  335.         - Together with OpenGL applications (e.g. Autodesk Mechanical
  336.           Desktop) display errors may occur. So far, these errors have
  337.           been observed on a GLoria-XL board only. Such kind of errors
  338.           can be suppressed by turning on the 'Force Buffer Blit' option
  339.           within the 'GLoria Settings' in 'Display Properties'. At
  340.           runtime the display can be repaired immediate by pressing the
  341.           hotkey for the redraw action, <shift><F2> for default.
  342.         - During some commands (PLINE, MLINE, SPLINE) MultiView views
  343.           cannot be recalled.
  344.         - The contents of viewports in paperspace will not be displayed
  345.           by MagniView.
  346.         - Inside a Slide file (filename *.sld, command MSLIDE) TT text
  347.           is always outlined, unless you configure 'Whip Compatibility'
  348.           in the 'TT Fonts' tab of the POWERdraft Settings.
  349.         - Windows NT 4.0 with ELSA Synergy or ELSA GLoria II only:
  350.           When heavily dragging a windowed DOS box above AutoCAD's
  351.           drawing area with the Display Properties option 'Show window
  352.           contents while dragging' enabled, then this DOS box may be
  353.           damaged by POWERdraft drawing onto it. This can then easily be
  354.           repaired e.g. by maximizing and restoring the DOS box.
  355.
